![]() Rebel Galaxy has its fans for sure, but I personally prefer the faster paced, more frenetic gameplay of Outlaw. So yeah, my review here is a bit salty. On the whole, I think Rebel Galaxy Outlaw is the more complete experience. ![]() The control you have over your ship is far more granular than in Rebel Galaxy (diverting power between subsystems, boosting engines, shields, cutting internal dampeners, etc). You can mod your ship with different weapons, launchers, and components. In Rebel Galaxy Outlaw, you are one of those fighters. The challenge in Rebel Galaxy comes from piloting a huge, lumbering capital ship when most of your enemies are single fighters, and there’s usually a lot of them. Along the way, you’ll take on bounties, defense contracts, transport jobs, and any other manner of work to keep your ship flying. You’re on a personal quest to hunt down the man who killed your husband. The game takes place entirely in first person (except when navigating menus at stations + outposts). She’s the aunt of the player character from Rebel Galaxy. You play a character in this one Juno Markev. Rebel Galaxy Outlaw, on the other hand, is a first-person space dogfighting sim set before the events of Rebel Galaxy. You pilot a capital ship through a randomly generated galaxy, taking on odd jobs and transporting goods, all while fending off swarms of pirates and other n’er do wells who seek to do you harm. It plays a lot like the ship combat in Assassin’s Creed 4. Rebel Galaxy is a randomly generated space trucking/naval combat game, where all ships (except fighters) operate on a 2 dimensional plane. For all intents and purposes, treat them as two completely different games.
